Bioenergy Innovation Platform

🗂️ Project Description

Advancing Clean Energy for a Sustainable Future:

Bioenergy presents a unique opportunity for reducing dependence on fossil fuels and expanding access to clean cooking and industrial energy solutions. However, lack of coordination, limited investment, and weak policy frameworks have slowed its development in Kenya. To bridge this gap, KEREA is collaborating with the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum (MoEP) to establish the Bioenergy Innovation Platform, a hub that fosters bioenergy development, market access, and policy improvements.

Our key initiatives include:

  • Serving as the secretariat for the Bioenergy Innovation Platform, providing leadership and coordination for sector growth.
  • Engaging key stakeholders, including businesses, policymakers, and investors, to create an inclusive and collaborative platform.
  • Developing strategies for bioenergy adoption, ensuring alignment with Kenya’s national energy goals.
  • Facilitating workshops and research projects to test and refine bioenergy solutions for wider adoption.
  • Promoting public-private partnerships, encouraging investment in innovative bioenergy technologies.
